Rolling Perforated Steel Plate for Trommels

Cylinders manufactured from rolled, perforated steel plate are often created for trommels to be used for many applications.  Whether you are mining for gold of sifting out garbage, the basic function of a trommel is to sort out different sizes of material.  (“Trommel” comes from German word meaning “drum”.)

Typically, the perforated plate itself is not strong enough to hold its shape, so stiffener rings are rolled from steel channel or angle.  Many times, the channel rings are part of a framework that allows the perforated panels to be replaced due to wear or changing aggregate sizes (needing a different perforating pattern).  A mechanism for turning the trommel also needs driving rings for rotating the trommel.
