When bending steel tees stem in, the radius or diameter is usually specified as measured from the outside of the flange. (Please see image.)
When bending steel tees stem out, the radius or diameter is usually specified as measured from the inside of the flange. (Please see image.)
When bending steel tees stem up, the radius or diameter is usually specified as measured from the center line of the flange.
We regularly create steel tees by cutting beams lengthwise and then straightening them or bending them to a specified radius or diameter.
We bend steel tees stem out, stem in, and stem up from the smallest sizes up to 22” x 142-1/2# tees.
We can bend steel tees up to 80 ft. long with a web thickness of 1”
We straighten steel tees to a profile tolerance within 1/8” over 20 ft. This is better than the mill tolerance on structural sections which is 1/8” over 10 ft. Therefore, mill tolerance on a 50 ft. long tee is 5/8”; our standard tolerance would be 5/16.” If desired, however, our tolerance can be as precise as 1/8” over 50 ft. on curved or straight specifications.
